Characteristics of silicone rubber and its application / selection of raw rubber.

Silicone rubber is a special synthetic elastomer formed by mixing linear polysiloxane with reinforcing filler and vulcanizing under heating and pressure conditions. It has the perfect balance of mechanical and chemical properties to meet many of today's demanding applications.

Silicone rubber excels in the following areas:
High and low temperature stability.
Inert (odorless and odorless).
Transparent, easy to color.
Wide range of hardness, 10-80 Shore hardness.
Chemical resistance.
Good sealing performance.
Electrical properties.
Compression deformation resistance.

In addition to the above-mentioned excellent properties, silicone rubber miscellaneous parts are also particularly easy to process and manufacture compared to conventional organic elastomers. Silicone rubber flows easily, so it can be molded, calendered, and extruded with low energy consumption. Ease of processing also means high productivity.

Silicone rubber miscellaneous parts can be supplied in the following forms:
Compounds: This ready-to-use material can be colored and catalyzed depending on your processing equipment and end use. Base Materials: These silicone polymers also contain reinforcing fillers. The rubber base can be further compounded with pigments and additives to form a compound that meets your color and other manufacturing requirements.
Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR): This two-component liquid rubber system can be pumped into suitable injection molding equipment and then heat cured into molded rubber parts.
Fluorosilicone Rubber Compounds and Bases: Fluorosilicone rubber retains many of the key properties of silicones, in addition to its superior resistance to chemicals, fuels and oils.

Choice of raw rubber

Selection of raw rubber: According to the performance of the product and the conditions of use, raw rubber with different characteristics is selected. Vinyl silicone rubber: Vinyl silicone rubber can be used when the temperature of the product is in the range of -70 to 250 ℃. Low benzene silicone rubber: When the product requires a high temperature in the range of -90 ~ 300 ℃, low benzene silicone rubber can be used. Fluorosilicone: When the product requires high and low temperature resistance and resistance to fuel and solvents, fluorosilicone is used.
